Motorola MCS 2000

Post by JD »

How do you set the master squelch setting in a 100 watt remote head MCS2000 ? I can find per channel the fine squelch setting.. We are switching over to narrow band, when we programmed the radio , half the channels had open squelch on them.

Thanks.

I found this in the user manual. Not sure if it is of any help, but thought I would post.

Monitor
Press the monitor button to toggle monitor on or off.
Press and hold the monitor button to enter squelch configuration. Using the mode selector (D), the squelch level of the radio may be fine-tuned. Press the select key when the desired level is attained

There are also squelch attenuation levels which are adjusted via the tuner cps if the above mentioned method doesn't work.

The software said that only fine tuning of the squelch is available , the master squelch level can only be done internally. Is there a pot in the radio, I can not find it in my service manual .

thanks.
