quantar analog interface to controller

Post by radioactive69 »

I am trying to get a quantar programed as base in analog only mode to interface to an after market
controller.
I can not get the TX audio input to repeat audio at pin 1 nor 5 of the 50 pin telco connector #17.
Any ideas to help this project along? I only have the 4wire wireline card and basic wildcard.

This is what I have working:
On 50 PIN connector #17:
10k resistor short pins 8 and 22 for PTT
10k resistor short pins 8 and 18 for COS -
100k resistor short pins 8 and 37 for PL +
PTT works on pin 47
· Program wildcard input 9 active HI
· Program Table: State: input 9, action= key from WL, inaction= dekey from WL
RX Audio is seen at pin 2 .5v p-p and pin 30 1v p-p
TX Audio is input on pin 5 (not repeating when PTT keyed)
COS indicate works on pin 43 and active LOW
· Program wildcard output 7 active HI
· Program Table: State: RxCAR detect, action= set output 7, inaction= clr output 7
PL Indicate is found on pin 37 and active HI
· Program wildcard output 2 active HI
· Program Table: State: RxPL detect and RxCOS detect,
· action= set output 2, inaction= clr output 2
PL Disable is accomplished by grounding pin 17
· Program Table: State: input 7, action= RX PL Disable, inaction= RX PL enable
· Program wildcard input 7 active HI

Outputs review: 1 HI, 2 HI, 3 LO, 7 HI
Inputs review: 1 HI, 2 HI, 3 HI, 4 HI, 5 LO, 6 LO, 7 HI, 9 HI

If I use connector #14 the MRTI and enable "phone patch" under hardware configuration, I can get
TX audio input to pin 1 to repeat audio. What do I have to do to get the TX audio input to function
on the telco connector #17?

Thanks, Doug.

Did you put unbalanced [single-ended / ground-referenced] audio into pin 1? That won't work.

It needs to be 600 ohm balanced audio across pins 1 and 26.

I just took a jumper with a 4700ohm resistor in between pin 30 to pin 1 and grounded pin 26.
PL audio passes to the transmitter just fine. Without some resistance the TX audio is over driven.
The controller will be able to balance the audio without the resistor I used. Pin 2 audio is too low.

Grounding pin 17 allows COS audio to pass to pin 30. Program wildcard input 7 Active LO. I made a mistake
above that states input 7 active HI.

Looks like all I forgot to do is ground pin 26 to get the audio to pass. Time to start wiring the controller
to the quantar and MTR link. Controller is a Scom 7330. Thank you.
