as+ dash to high power tunk conversion

Post by viper314 »

I recently took my astro plus dash mount and put it in an astro spectra trunk mount package. Radio works great except that I can no longer read or write to it from either the astro with rib configuration or the astro plus cable through the kvl port. I thinking I may need to go back to dash set up and then change the head and model number before I pull it apart and reinstall it in the trunk mount case?? Any thoughts

If you can't read/write with the Astro Plus cable through the keyload port on the front of the radio, you may have a regular Spectra (non-Astro) interconnect board. Stand by for part numbers...

edit: HLN6344E is the part you want. Also, an Astro Plus will not read with a RLN4008 RIB and regular Spectra cable, ever.

edit II: For clarification, are you saying you took the guts out of a mid-power 40/50W Astro Plus dashmount, and put them into a 110W high-power chassis? That would entail a whole different set of interconnect part numbers, but the difference is the same: the Astro Spectra interconnect will work while the non-Astro part will not.

He said he did a high power conversion. HLN6344E is a mid power board. I believe I have a high power interconnect that will work if your looking for one. And yes a remote mount Astro plus must be read through the KVL port. Only an astro spectra or astro spectra plus interconnect will work.
