MSF 5000 Part Number 1884248r26, suitable replacement

Post by tskilbride »

Is there a suitable replacement for part number 1884248r26. Its R426 on a UHF MSF5000 repeater. This is the adjustment pot for TX power. 10K 1/2W.

I measured one on my station. The lead spacing was 6mm although all the pots I found were 5mm. The diameter of the ceramic pot was 10mm; that's a standard size. Mouser has a Bourns 3309W-1-103 which is 10k, 0.5w, front-adjust, for $0.85. You may have to spread the leads apart a bit to get it to fit. That's all they had currently in stock.

Another possibility is a Piher PTC10H series but it has a lower power rating and is a bit smaller and Mouser didn't have any in stock.

There's no substitute Motorola part number either.

I will give this a try. Don't see why it won't work.

Thanks
