MOBEXCOM P25 - DVRS

Post by Jim202 »

Anyone have any documentation on the DVRS unit called the Mobexcom P25?

It's made by Futurecom from Concord, Ontario Canada.

It will Interface with the XTL2500 and XTL5000 trunk mount mobiles.

The MOL site doesn't seem to have anything I can find out about the unit except for a couple of brochures.

Motorola pass-thru sells them but all the support is done by Futurecom.

Been there and got the brochures. Not much for technical support on their site for this product. Maybe next week I will try calling them.

You better take a large tube of KY with you when you go to get the price. The DVRS usually costs more than the radio it's plugged into.

Expect an in-band model to cost over $10k.

I thought they were only available in the 800 band?

All these comments are germane to the original question. Does anyone have any cable documentation information on this unit?

To add to my questions, does anyone have any info on setting frequency and audio levels?

They are programmed with "DVRSTweaker" software. I set a couple up a few years ago. They are not straight forward and it was a fair learning curve. Unfortunately, the customer has all the documentation. Since you'll have to purchase the software, you might as well shell out for the programming, installation, and user manuals too...can't be too much more.
