Spectra tac reciver replacement

Post by kc0sdu »

I have went through the service manuals and think i figured out what i need to do to remove the micor receiver out and put a maxtrac 16 pin in, i just need to provide discriminator in and couple other things to the backplane and should be good to go and program the maxtrac for csq no pl and let the tac rx do the pl decode and audio control, etc etc etc, is there anyone who has done this? any notes you could give me or pointers etc etc let me know

Yes, I have done that and it works fine.
You will probably want to make a couple parts changes like a better squelch pot.
I sent you a PM.

Talk to Greg Carttar.
He built a bunch of 4 channel units, using modified comparator chassis, with CDM's for receivers.
