Astro Spectra Consolette and VRS750

Post by NSPD »

I realize this may sound like a weird and stupid question, but...

Is it possible to use a UHF VRS750 with a VHF Astro Spectra consolette? I have terrible coverage at my residence now and also not a lot of mounting options for a base antenna. I have in an outside storage room where I can hook up an Astro Spectra consolette and outside antenna and make a run of CAT-5 to a deskset.

It would be nice to be able to enable a VRS on UHF so I don't have to constantly be at my desk and also have a little bit of outside coverage around my residence...

It may be easier to make the Astro radio back into a mobile trunk mount configuration with the VRS on it. Then extend the mic and speaker to the control position.

Revisiting this topic at a new residence... similar problems again, but I would like to position RCH3000 handsets at a few strategic places in the house.

Looking at the consolette, it would appear the accessory DB25 comes out on the back of the unit. The radio inside is just a W9 mobile so I don't see anything that would prevent the VRS from working.

Any ideas?
