GP680 EEPROM Cksum error

Post by ryan0001 »

Hi all,

Just looking for some info on this error?

I bought a GP680 VHF (MDH25KDH9CK6AE) and went to program using CPS R00.02.10.
It seemed to be successful but then showed "EEPROM Cksum" on the display and a low tone.

Since then I've acquired CPS R00.08.08 which I created a new codeplug and wrote it to the unit, again with success, but still getting the error?

Originally I thought it must have been because I was using an older version of the CPS to what it had been written with, but even with what I believe is the latest CPS for this radio it still is giving me this error.

Perhaps it needs to be re-flashed?
Any ideas?

Cheers,
Ryan

Hi all,

Problem fixed by using Waris Lab Tool to put a blank code plug into radio so it shows No Personality then begin programming process using updated CPS. No special cable required, standard programming cable works fine.

Just in case it helps anyone in future.

Cheers,
Ryan
