Move VHF Quantar TX Range 1 Exciter to Range 2??

Post by Tim »

Hi Folks,

Well we're ready to change the frequency of our Quantar from 154.430 to 158.850.

Murphy has entered the building, and it's a range 1 Exciter. Won't lock at the new frequency.

Anybody have any experience in shifting the VCO on the beast up a 'little'??

There are a couple of coils inside the VCO, but I"m not gonna go tweaking unless somebody
has hacked their way through the jungle before me!!

Anybody ever done this?

Thanks,

TIm

Most folks do it the other way around, and go R2 > R1.

If it won't lock, you are likely going to need the appropriate range module.

Whats the application? Police, Fire, Public Safety? If so, you need to get the right equipment, not modify things.
