XTS 5K Programming cable
Every document I have says you have to use the new USB cable to program the 5K. Two of the locals swear they program them all the time with RIB/JEDI cables. Yes or No, can it be done or are they blowing smoke?

I've never heard of anyone using that combination before. Could they be using a serial cable with the built in rib to program them?
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Re: XTS 5K Programming cable
There is a serial programming cable for the 2500/5000 series. But it is a different cable than the Jedi series.
"Archers."
"I beg pardon, sire. Won't we hit our own troops?"
"Yes....but we'll hit theirs as well. We have reserves....attack"

Re: XTS 5K Programming cable
there are 2 OEM Motorola XTS5000.. actually Astro25 cables the USB and the RS232. Neither use a RIB. There are also some non Motorola Astro25 cables out there that use a RS232 but look identical to a Jedi/Astro cable.
Re: XTS 5K Programming cable
Anyone got the P/N for the USB cable for XTS5000?
