CDR700 UHF Trade Value Question

Post by AmpLogic »

Hello.
I have a complete UHF CDR700 repeater, 403-470 split. It is used but in good condition, and works perfectly well. It has 2 CDM750 radios, antenna diplexer, controller, power supply, fan cooled case and all cables / connectors etc.
What I would like to know is what kind of trade value this setup has. I would like to trade it (locally if possible) for a good ham transceiver. Something reliable that covers all bands (or at least most of the common ones) with as many modes as possible is what I'm looking for.
I'd like to find out what brand(s) and model(s) would fit the bill that would of comparable value to the CDR700 repeater.
I've had my general class license for a couple of years, but have never owned a HF rig. I don't need the repeater so I thought I would start looking around for something to trade it for. I just don't know what this thing is worth.

Thanks in advance for your input.

CDM750 are worth maybe $100 each
The controller is worth $50 .... maybe
Duplexer another $50
Power supply $25

$250 is a fair price imo

OK Thanks. That will at least give me an idea of which radios to look for.

Tried very hard to find a used one this spring and couldn't (nearby farmer late on the narrowbanding timeline). We were looking to pay $900 - $1000 for one in great shape. It's a current production unit. Everybody was narrowbanding last year and most didn't want to buy new. Market is a significantly slower now as a result. BL or eBay it and it'll sell. Good luck.

Thanks for your input.
I do see them selling for between $500 and $1000 on ebay sometimes.
I really wasn't trying to make a lot of money off of it, and would rather trade it than sell it. But whatever works for me to get a decent HF rig I guess.

Thanks again.
