Motorola Impres Battery Charger Firmware Update

Someone suggested to me earlier today that I ought to see if the firmware on the Motorola Impres chargers is current. Honestly, I had no idea that there were firmware updates for the Impres chargers! Anyway, is it worthwhile to do? What changes does the newer firmware do for the charger? Does using an Impress charger with old firmware adversely affect a brand new battery in any way?

Most chargers for the last 6 years have 3.4 fw. Some very new ones show 3.9. Look at the bottom of the charger on the white decal. Near the bottom of the decal you will see the ver #. My charger came from Batdude, & he sold a bunch of them after he updated the fw to 3.4. The 3.4 addressed problems with Impress batteries. The fw has no bearing on non Impres batteries. GARY

Thank you very much for the reply. I suspect that these chargers are at least 6 years old, but they may be a bit older. We are using Impres batteries. What problems were there and what did the firmware update solve? I guess the bottom line is I just want to find out if it is worthwhile to do the update or if it is a waste of time and money.
