Dayton Ham Fest

Post by Jim202 »

I guess that the Dayton Ham Fest didn't impress anyone much or no one went. Haven't seen or heard any feedback about what went on any where.

The only comment I have seen so far was that GRE was at a booth and didn't spill much information about their scanners either.

Point the first: There's a Dayton thread stickied right at the top of this forum, might have been better to post in there than create a new topic: http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=107663

Point the second: I'm sure that the first priority for everyone who went (which doesn't seem to include you) is to run in lickety split every 30 seconds just to tell you about everything they saw...

"Hey Jim, you'll never guess what IcoKenwoYaesGrizzlyBear came out with! A new Heisenburg discombobulator that'll give your rice-rocket a bazillion more kellelacterals so that evil commercial radios don't blow out your front end when you use a 5-coil super duper high gain multi band antenna! I didn't see any neat Motorola gear, but I know you don't like them anyway..."

* Note: The writers responsible for this sarcastic post are TOTALLY going to be sacked. Really, we mean it. Why are you laughing?

The weather really sucked this year. Lots of interest in DMR for amateur use and the turnout for the raffle yesterday was pretty impressive.

Think you have the wrong impression about my question. Did you ever think that others might like to hear what was there and what their impression of this year was like?

Jeff posted a good comment that didn't include the extreme sarcasm that is totally uncalled for from you from a simple question.

No one has ever posted a running minute by minute comment about what has ever gone on any year at Dayton. Just some general comments about their impression of how that years gathering went.

If you have an axe to grind, bring it on. Don't remember ever trying to give you a hard time before. But if that's what your asking for, so be it.

I saw a bunch of stinky hams who didn't know how to not piss on themselves or practice hygiene, lots of dip$hits asking stupid questions. That's not sarcasm, it is fact... I didn't look for any deals, just visited old friends.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

Cleaned uip on the TRBO equipment. Bought about 7 portables and 3 mobiles for great prices from different vendors. Found some good filtering products, cans, circs, rx multicouplers. 2 100 watt tpl uhf amps, etc.

Friday was the day, sturday was a bit of a wash out. Good trip all around.
