P25 Packet Structure

Post by K5FPP »

I am looking for documentation on P25 packet structure. I am specifically looking to see if the receive NAC is included anywhere in the outgoing datastream. I believe it is but confirmation would be appreciated.

Assuming that you mean the air interface framing format then the receive NAC is not included in the outgoing datastream.

Sorry, that was too quick. The receive NAC and the transmit NAC are handled at the repeater. You can make the transmitted NAC the same as the received NAC or different. If you have multiple acceptable received NAC(s) then you can set the transmitted NAC to be whatever the received NAC was or you can set it to a fixed value. My original interpretation of your question was "Is the received NAC put into the outbound datastream in a field other than the transmitted NAC field?"
