I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with xtl5000 O5 head. It looks to be the exact same head with different software/firmware in it. Of course I've never seen an APX O5 head in person so I can't say for sure if it would work or not.

Also found this:

1564047H02
HSG, FRNT ASSY, XTL5000

I took apart my O5 head and found a part number 1564047H01 and a MOL search turned up invalid. So my guess is that 1564047H02 is the new head assembly part number and is most likely the charcoal gray like the new APX heads are. I've got a newer style XTL O5 head, the one that's charcoal colored, at the shop. Hopefully I'll find some time this week to take it apart and hopefully it should say 1564047H02 for the assembly. If it does I might have to look at swapping my old light gray assemblies for the new charcoal gray, because lets face it charcoal grey looks a lot cooler than light gray.

Yes it looks WAY better than the light gray , that is why i started my inquiry. Please let me know what you find. Does the one you have on that XTL say "XTL5000" on it? rather than "O5".

Ok this is weird. The head I just took apart says Motorola O5 on it and is the dark gray, but the housing part number is 1564047H01. I'm at a loss now.

Its the same head with a different faceplate. The newer XTL5000 mobiles are also coming with the dark color "Motorola O5" head installed. Just like when the brown Spectra heads turned black one day when XTL production began.

Should be no difference other than maybe a newer version of CH S/W

So if I were to order this part 1564047H02 or 1564047H06 for the front cover one of those should be the newer style head.

H02 is the older style light gray faceplate and the H06 is the newer style dark gray faceplate. The new O5 nameplate has a part number of 3315038C02, unfortunately it's depot only and they are not set up for ordering.

Jeff, so what you are telling us is that if order that new housing it wont come with the little strip of plastic with "Motorola O5" on it. so then it will look like crap. if the new one is not available is the old one that was light gray?

Both 1564047H02 and 1564047H06 has been cancelled.

Any valid P/Ns of O5 "HOUSING, Front Assembly" please?
