NTN7152B/7153B on MT2000 MODEL III?

Post by ttatoto »

I have a bunch of MT2000 MODELIII with bad displays. Can I replace them with NTN7152B (Front Housing with Top Display) or NTN7153B (JEDI 6-KEY Front Display)? If no, do I have to reprogram their codeplug?

Thanks,

The electronics/display for the 6/14 button assy are the same. So if you find a good 6 button/assy you just swap out the display/keypad electronics between the 2 units. I have also been able to put top display B4 cases on B3 radios that came w/o display with success. I have never been able to put B7/B5 electronics on B3 radios & have a working display. So yes, the keypad/electronics between the B5/B7 are the same, & will interchange. GARY

B7 = full keypad, front display.
B5 = partial keypad, front display.
B4 = no keypad, top display.
B3 = no keypad, no display. GARY

I was not successful trying to change my MT2000 full key to a 6 key.
I prefer the 6 key, the keys do not get bumped easily and I do not need the other keys anyway.

WRT the MT2000/HT1000, I think you mean A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, etc.

A = Conventional
B = Privacy Plus Trunked + Conventional
C = SmartNET Trunked + Conventional
W = Flashport/Programmable Feature Set
