CDR700 No TX from hand mic while in repeater hang time

Post by cbroseinak »

Have a CDR700 repeater with a pair of CDM750 UHF mobiles, set up as a Uni-directional repeater and It will not TX from a handmic/desk mic while responding to field units while the repeater is in hangtime. Works fine portable to portable, but portable to repeater being used as a base radio is funky. Have to wait till repeater drops out and then TX with the deskmic is ok.

I think that it has to do with the external PTT and mic inputs that are used for the repeater.

I do not know if there is anything in programming for the priority on the inputs.

Add a small relay, activated by the local mic, in the external PTT line to open the circuit, then the front mic and PTT will work.

Will, thank you for the responce. However, i'm going to set it up as a Bi-Directional repeater and set hang time to 0sec. It still works poorly in that config, but I lack certain skills and dont wish to try to correct something that I think M dropped the ball on.
