After looking online to so many resources still find the answer very confusing. According to some Motorola's published documents, they were claiming those public safety microphones (my case is NMN6244B) are not recommended for VHF since it degrades performance of the radio. Is there anyway to bypass RF connection between the two so I still be able to use antenna connector on the radio as usual? Or will it work properly with VHF antenna attached to the microphone just like UHF?
BTW, if I remove a metal plunger out from the microphone's connector, will it stop RF connection to the mic?
Thanks in advance.

VHF stubbies are too long, & don't work well on PSM's. To use the mike, you must cut off the stud that pushes the plunger that engages the RF switch. GARY

Or open the radio up and pop the plunger out. You can always push it back in (it snaps in) if you need it down the road. Shame to mangle a speaker mic.

Why not just get a regular non-PSM speakermic, instead of mangling this one to remove the feature that's the only reason to use one?
