MCS2000 DTMF Mic. on CDM ?

Post by RadioSouth »

Anyone know if the MCS2000 DTMF mic. (NMN6210D, nice mic looks similar to a Jedi spkr mic) will work with the CDM radios ?

Don't CDM radios use 10 pin mikes, while the MCS radios use 8 pin mikes. GARY

Not sure about the MCS compatibility but you can use 8 pin mics on the CDM. The outer 2 pins are for the handset.

The outer 2 pins are data pins. I believe they are used for the Keypad mic (Note, they don't call it a DTMF mic as the DTMF is generated within the radio, and the keypad is used for other functions)

Service manual shows the outer 2 pins as EXT_KP_ROW and EXT_KP_COL

Thanks, so it sounds like the mic. 'might' work but the DTMF part is incompabitible. Too bad, nice looking mic.

Is that a speaker mic?
On the MCS mic jack pin 2 is listed as SPKR- while on the CDM it's +5V, that could be a problem.
