What radios do you own?: Jedis and Sabers, mostly.

VHF Spectra owners, need info

Post by okto »

I'm looking for the FCC IDs for the VHF Spectra mobiles, in order to be able to determine actual bandsplit without RSS.
If anyone who owns a VHF Spectra and can verify (via RSS or module inspection) whether it's the 136-162 MHz or 146-174 MHz split could post the FCC ID of your unity here, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks y'all!

FCC ID# won't help, the grant covers the whole 136-174 band. Module #'s are the way to determine. Good part is the Spectra in VHF goes a few MHz +/- spec. so if your trying to use the 146-174 radio in 2M
your good with either model, the 136-162 are rare and were most commonly seen in the motorcycle version.

The best way to find the band split is to get the circuit board numbers on the TX PA. Then hit the manuals. There is a wealth of information available on the internet. If you haven't searched for it, then I won't waste my time pointing out where to go. In the last several years a question like yours comes up someplace at least several time a week.
