cdm1550 question about receive

Post by FCM »

I am setting up a cdm1550 for rx on my public service frequencies and also ham. Here is my question.. does the bandwith setting matter if the frequency is for rx only? I was tokd to leave it to wideband for better audio.. is this true? Lastly, emphasis selection I have disabled and also audio filtering.. does this sound correct? Thanks

My stand is to make the public safety frequencies narrow band like they are now. If you don't set them for narrow band, you will have to turn up the volume control to hear them. Then when you go to a ham frequency, they are wide band. So now the audio from a ham frequency will blow you away.
