Spectra Control Head Part Numbers

Post by fchrist16 »

Anyone have a detailed list of the Motorola Spectra control head's part numbers?

Without digging my heads out of their console I need to know what the full A9 head is named (HLN???) and the same for the A7 and the DEK's.

Much appreciated to anyone that can help!

I am going to point you to the BIBLE source of most of the information you would want to know about the Spectra.

http://www.onfreq.com/syntorx/

Go there, select the Spectra and sit back and read your heart out. If you don't find what your looking for, then on a chance, there might be some information on the repeater builders site.

Jim,

I didn't find what I was looking for on either with certain search terms, hence why I asked here...I know the differences between A3, etc.

Frank,
If you're looking for part #'s to order good chance they're NLA, Spectra support was discontined probably a decade ago. Have you tried MOL ? (They have parts breakdowns but not sure if Spectra is still
shown there). These were contained in Motorola's sourcebook if anybody still has them, used to subscribe to them but tossed mine when MOL came online.
Also onfreq.com has a good breakdown (says under construction but the spectra link works)

All the 9 model type heads are the same size. There are about 6 or 8 models. The most common is the HLN1073x head, where the x is like an A or B. The same model heads can be used on the Syntor X9000 radios.

The information is there between the Spectra and Syntor X9000 pages on the link I supplied.

I like using the 9 style heads as they provide the most flexible options.

Like I travel around frequently, so I use zones and the multi PL programmable buttons all the time. In the Spectra, you can program up to 128 channels (modes) and have up to a 16 tone table of PL tones to select from. You also get to have a different scan list for each zone. You only get 15 channels in a scan list.

Hope this points you in the right direction.
