apx 7500 consolette and centracom gold elite

hello, we have purchased a apx consolette. it is clear that the consolette works with tone remote. what i have done is load the codeplug into the radio. then i selected the tone parameters for the consolette card. i then unplugged the 4wire from the xtl5k consolette and put it into the apx. nothing works. please be kind, i am new to this board and have only worked in radio for 6 months.

Programming the APX consolette for tone remote control can be a rather trying experience. It would be a good choice to spend some time reading the manual regarding the operation and programming the tone remote function.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Motorola. In addition to programming, it may also be your cable configuration, especially if you use T568B pinouts for your connections as we do. While the XTL is usually wired for a straight-thru Ethernet cable (pins 5-4,1-2) the APX consolette jack is wired for a crossover cable (pins 5-4, 3-6).
