I recently installed a CXB MSF5000 for my club's 2 meter repeater, and it is one of the best repeaters out there. I was even told that the PA it has is a rare one (newer style 75 watt). I currently have it interfaced to a Link RLC-3 controller through the MRTI and j2900 and j2901. It works almost all the time, except sometimes it just doesn't transmit. The controller shows a COR signal but even the local PTT switch does not key the station. No error codes come up on the screen. I have it programmed as a full duplex base with the PTT priorities as LMW. It does not get used much, but in an emergency, I'd like it to work without having to wait until it stops locking out the PTT.
Thanks & 73,
Jim

Re: MSF5000 PTT lockout
Try turning the RF output pot down just a little. If the power out is right at the protection circuit's threshold, they will drop out of TX after a very brief attempt. The pot is on the front of the RF section. Note where it is first, then turn it very slightly CCW, and test...Good Luck!
Re: MSF5000 PTT lockout
I tried turning the power down with no luck. I also checked the codeplug and nothing seems to be programmed wrong.
The station is currently not grounded with the ground screw on the side, but I will trying that tonight.
If all else doesn't work, could it be a failing component?

Re: MSF5000 PTT lockout
What is the behavior when you try to TX from the toggle switch on the CXB control shelf? Do the LEDs flash briefly then go out? Do you hear two quick beeps over the air after the LEDs flash? Or does it just not do anything at all?
