CDM 1250 problem transmitting on High Power

Post by insight3fl »

After connecting the transceiver to a cheap SWR Meter (unknown frequency range. silly mistake) the radio failed to transmit on high power setting for all programmed channels. The mic would key, the transmitter would energize for a second or two and then stop (as indicated by red transmit light and dropping of repeaters). When I reset the channels to low power it seems to transmit ok.

Did I blow a circuit in the power sensing path or damage the final stage, or is there some safe guard setting that was triggered and now needs to be reset?

Thanks

Dennis

Not enough 'juice' to the radio. Check your power source and cables for excessive voltage drop on trandmit.

Thanks for the tip... I think that may have been it. I also reduced the power setting to 25 / 40 watts. It had been turned up in the Codeplug.... probably by me in error playing around with it.
