MT2000 VHF Transmitting problem

Post by Hoseman292 »

Standard VHF MT2000 M3.
Programmed two 16ch. zones using MTSX RSS. Earlier today attempted to bring up 4-5 amateur repeaters without success.
While transmitting in simplex I am able to hear transmissions on a nearby receiver.

Output power cannot be determined but IMO this is where the problem lies.

This evening I tested the output next to an XTS3000 set to the same frequency. The counter displayed the correct transmit
frequency for the XTS3000.

The counter did not register any information for the MT2000 reading.. as if it was not transmitting.
The antenna switch at the accessory connector is disengaged and moves freely.
The receiver isn't too bad. Not noisy, not full quieting.

Suggestions fellas?

Is this an alignment issue or a hardware problem?

I have access to the programmer with a basic cable.
I own a 2410A service monitor but missing the RKN4035D Service Cable.

I have another VHF MT2000 with the JEDI pixel plague but receives and transmits fine.
I could probably swap the case and display and use the other one but hate the idea of putting
an MT2000 down for a transmitter issue.

Any assistance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the proper RF adapter to put the MTS2000 on a dummy load/wattmeter?
You could have a bad connection from the RF board to the antenna connector.
