Re: XPR4000 XPR6000 series discontinued
Not a surprise. The 5550 and 7550's are much better radios for basically the same price (close enough). The transition will be the easiest one I can recall for users of the old models (same charger/audio accessories, only the battery is different and most users don't have spare batteries).
I just have one question: we are 16-years into the HT750/1250 series, when will it be cancelled?

Re: XPR4000 XPR6000 series discontinued
Likely sometime this year. Although there are still some differences in how MDC1200 and QC2 alerts work that are not the same as the HT1250s so hopefully they get that ironed out. Biggest drawback of the XPR7550 is the inability to get RF out of the antenna jack for an external antenna.

escomm,
What's the deal with the antenna port on the XPR7550IS? Looks like a regular SMA?

Looks like it is but that's a Canadian radio, Motorola says we can't have it here in the States

And even if you could, it costs a fortune. GARYescomm wrote:Looks like it is but that's a Canadian radio, Motorola says we can't have it here in the States
