XTL5000 High Power HHC No XMIT audio

Post by Outerbanks4wd »

I have a xtl5000 high power vhf with an HHC that has very low or none transmit audio. Unit is in basement hooked up to a discone antenna, using as base station.
Unit had audio several weeks ago but now has no audio. Solid carried but no audio on transmit.
I tried unplugging and plugging all connectors but issue has not changed.
Can someone please provide some suggestions?

Thanks

Have you tried to read the radio and look at them mic gain and mic AGC settings?

Is this a new radio to you, or has this been a working radio until recently with the no or low mic transmit audio? You said it had audio several weeks ago. Was the transmit audio good then or was it low?

What is the transmit SWR on that antenna?
