Simplex repeater

Post by mattorano »

I am wanting to build a simplex repeater as a back up repeater for a my local search and rescue unit. I have two Motorola M1225 UHF and a Motorola interconnect that I purchased off Ebay. I am told that I need to bring the CORE out for this project to work. Can anyone help with this project.

Repeater-builder.com has loads of info already online about doing this with many legacy Motorola radios including the M1225. Bop on over there and read to your heart's content.

COR (not CORE) is readily available at the accessory connector. It may require a minor programming change.

Ebay seller mre1032 also offers several different interconnects specifically for this purpose with full instructions. His reputation is well known. Search here for lots of recommendations for his products and services.

Motorola calls carrier detect RUS, receiver un squelch, No relays anymore...
Look for PL/DPL DET. An open collector transistor output. Pin 8.

Thank you, I will put pin 8 to pl/dpl. Is there any other changes I need to make in the software in the external accessories field.
