Hello,
I know about the capacitor plague, but which type of replacements do you recommend? There are so many varieties such as ESR, Tolerances, Temp. and so on.

Re: IFR COM-120A Caps
Hello Ccotto,
I just replaced all polar capacitors to SMD tantalum capacitor on digital tray, some none-polar capacitors(10uF) I just kept them.

Re: IFR COM-120A Caps
I always go for the equal value capacitance, higher voltage rating, lower
tolerance, and better temp rating, if it isn't the highest rating already.
Of course, I use ceramic for ceramic, aluminum for aluminum, etc.,
or I may substitute aluminum for tantalum, and mica for ceramic, if the
value isn't available in the original type cap.
As long as I am improving the capacitor selection, like changing from
paper caps to poly caps, I have no qualms about changing the type of
capacitor.
I don't worry about the ESR or other figures, as those usually are better
today than 15 or 20 years ago. One thing I have noticed, the size of the
caps are getting smaller.

Well then, I'm going with tantalums . ESR rating was the head scratcher. Off to replace caps and calibrate. Thanks for the info.
P.S. Does anyone have a good lead on the TDA1904 audio amp?
