PM1500 3sec TX
Came across a fun one. I have a PM1500 VHF 110 watt unit that will only TX for 3 sec or so they will dekey. You can PTT right away for another 3 sec and then it stops. No fail code. I checked the coax, antenna, ground, and even the programming. I can not figure this one out. Has anyone seen this before? Am I missing something?

Go into the personality under Tx Options and check the "Time out timer" (TOT). It's usually set for 60 seconds by default. Is it set to 3? if not, then might be something with the RF board?

It's not the TOT checked that. Tried changing it as well no difference.

Try a different mic?
Re: PM1500 3sec TX
Check the 12 volts at the power connector on the radio while transmitting. The voltage should not change a lot between transmitt and receive.

I tried a different mic no change. I will check the volts on Monday. Thanks

Re: PM1500 3sec TX
the power supply is the first thing to check if the mike is not bad. A 110 watt radio NEEDS at minimum, a 25A continuous duty source and make sure the cables are all tight.
