Hello:
Have two Motorola M120 VHF 45 watt mobiles that originaly had long error tone upon power up and gave the error code 58 which has been recovered and repaired.
But no audio at front speaker but if you turn volume up full tilt you can hear the faint sound of the volume hiss and the extremely faint hint of the ch beep when changing channels.
These radios were im told used as the rx and tx on a ham repeater.
However upon recovery of the code plug the radio DID NOT show amateur radio freqs but normal business band freqs so ??????
The radios are not programmed as repeater mode and are not programmed for handset operation so those programming areas are correct.
Also the 16 pin audio plug is installed as needed for audio at front speaker.
Any other ideas or options I should be looking at ?
As for additional info these were among ten radios from a member here on the bd and all with the exact same issues but were recovered and the other 8 radios GM300s and M216s did all recover with audio.
Just these two M120 VHF 45 watt mobiles that im told were used as a repeater DID NOT recover with speaker rx audio.
When you push and hold the monitor button for squelch noise you barely hear the hiss but its there just not coming through as if somethings blocking it that possibly when they used them as rx tx repeaters they may have done something for that application.
Speakers are hooked up and plugged into the bd.
Thank you

Hello:
This has been figured out and repaired also.
Turned out to be defective volume controls on front case.
