Analog UHF Spectra Power question

Post by nealg58 »

I have been looking all over and I have not found the answer so I figured I would ask the Spectra Guru's here. I have a UHF Spectra 20/45 watt mobile. I was wondering how low the low power setting could be set without causing transmit issues. 15 watts? 10 watts? The unit has already been recapped and I care not about it possibly being a power hog.

Thanks in advance.

You can run them at 10w. Check the spectral purity connected to an antenna.

That is what I currently have it set for and it seems to be clean. I have one that I need to check the modulator VCO circuitry for noise. With no modulation there is enough noise in the background to be annoying.
