Serial port to factory rib cable question.

Post by N4KVE »

I was given a factory rib, & I'm looking for a cable at the computer store. The serial end is obvious, but what would they call the plug end that hooks up to the rib? Would a computer store even have this cable? GARY

That's a DA-15 connector.

You're not going to find one of those cables at a computer store, it's a non-standard cable.
You can either buy one, there are a number of places selling them online, or make your own. Pinouts for cables are on the Batlabs site. Rib to PC cables are right at the top of the page.

Thanks. I knew I had one, & just found it after being misplaced for 3 years. Must be the real deal, as it has a tag that says HKN9216A. GARY
