How to not hear encryption.
Some of us are on a repeater [conventional] & use ADP encryption. However, there are others who do not have a key loaded, but they hear the mumble jumble when we are talking with ADP on. They'll usually say "what's all that noise"? Are there any settings these radios can be set to so they do not hear the mumble jumble, & only hear the unencrypted transmissions? GARY
Re: How to not hear encryption.
One option would be to put all of the encrypted traffic on a different talkgroup than the clear traffic, that way clear-only users don't have to hear it all the time.
Other than that I don't know of any way to mute encrypted traffic on clear-only radios.

Thanks. P25 no TG's. Was hoping PL [NAC] decode would keep users from hearing the noise. GARY

They need to have encryption-capable radios with crypto enabled - the algo doesn't matter. When the radio detects a non-matching or unloaded key it will stay muted.

Yes, there ARE TG's in P25 conventional. It's just not the norm usually. Configured properly it will solve the problem.N4KVE wrote:Thanks. P25 no TG's. Was hoping PL [NAC] decode would keep users from hearing the noise. GARY
