Deskset RCH-3000, L3208A, MCS2000 III (need manuals and help)

Post by akrovers »

Hello all,

Just ordered a box of RCH3000 desk-sets to use around the house and shop. I also ordered a L3208A digital junction box to interface to the MCS2000 III. I noticed the L3208A has one port labeled RCH, is this the only one that will work with the RCH3000? if so what if I need to have several desksets connected? I don't have any of the manuals (aside from MCS2000) so I could use those if someone has a copy.

Thanks

Matt

What radios do you own?: an unhealthy amount of them

The L3208 is IIRC meant for use with the MC3000 deskset series. The RCH port is the only one meant for the RCH3000. There's an older junction box whose part number I can't recall that has ports for multiple RCH3000s.

I have several copies of the RCH3000 manual so I scanned one and uploaded it. Here it is with fancy OCR that sort-of works.

I've got several RCH's up and running for my base radios but I have yet to set up multiple desksets with a junction box, so unfortuantely I can't help you with your specific issue. I can tell you that a single RCH3000 will interface directly to an MCS2000 M3 with no issues or junction box.

Good luck!

The part# for the RCH3000 digital junction box was CDN1337A. Good luck in your search, they've been NLA for at least 15 years.

Thanks for the reply, I would go with the MC3000 desk-sets but like the look and function of the RCH much more. I will keep a look out for the old junction box.

I was finally able to locate the rch junction box cdn1337, but without a manual, can anyone help with jumpers and general setup for the MCS2000?

Thanks

Same manual as above. It's included towards the back. There are only a couple jumpers to move and they're all spelled out in a table.
