RSS Problem

Ok, this may be a basic dos question, but I'm having trouble moving my rss software to a 286. The MCX1000 software must be run on a 286, and my 286 won't read the disk but the pentium will. Is this because a different disk format is used, or because the drive is bad? If so, do you know how to format the disks so both computers can read the disk?

the dos version may be too old,
I have found 6.22 works the best

Try to type at the C:/ver This should give you the current version of DOS you have! We have a couple of 286 computers at the shop! still running, still using them! Try the idea posted above...

Try also a C:/defrag F "If I recall right the "F" is for a full defrag. We have do that on our pc's...what the heck, can't hurt....

Yes it sounds like the floppy disk
is the trouble. Format a disk in the
286 computer then put the disk into newer computer and copy to the formatted slower disk. Most of the time this works.
