Maratrac Siren

I have a maratrac siren with dek control head and if anyone has used these units as stand alone if so how are they wired up ?.
I have the cable for the siren box to dek. Cable has zip cord for speaker and green/orange wires from end of the plug . When
I tried testing it there was no power to the dek. I had the red/black wires from the cable to positive and negative . I also have
a vhf maratrac radio with a7 control head . It also has the black vip connector from radio to siren dek . Are these sirens only
work only when connected to the a7 radio head ?. I also tested the siren cable for power at the connector to siren box and
plug to the dek which it has.
