Motorola XTL 5000 with a ASTRO control head

I have a Motorola XTL 5000 with a ASTRO control head. i have seen different postings saying it can be programmed through the mic cable or the rear acc port or 10 pin port …what is your say on this? It is driving me crazy..

the answer is yes
the old style microphone cable is harder to find
the rear accessory would be easier ...either USB or RS-232
