Quantar Receiver Failure

Post by mutantblue »

I have a 900 MHz Quantar that was working fine and then recently I noticed the receiver didn't seem to be working. Using RSS, I looked at the Metering Screen and noticed that the Injection Level was only 0.08 volts. I swapped the receiver with a known good (and working) receiver and for this unit saw an Injection level of 0.65 volts. All the other levels seemed similar between the good and bad units. Since I'm using this Quantar in the "out of range" amateur band (902 MHz input), I also checked the receiver on an in-band frequency of 896 and observed the same low injection level value and also the unit didn't receive. Does anyone have any experience with a receiver problem like this and a suggested solution? I do have the service manual and can perform some level of repair, but I thought I'd check here before proceeding.
