Hello

You can program it to conventionel - no problem.
The X means secure - you can encrypt your transmissions,
read this link http://www.batlabs.com/encrypt.html
You will need a secure hybrid dvi-xl des-xl or something like that,
and a keyloader to program it.

Securenet Programmation...

Thanks for your help!

If the radio is already programmed with encryption, can I reprogram it the way I want without encryption only with my prog cable?? Or I have to get the keyloader and all the stuff to disable encryption?

Thank you!
Vince.

What radios do you own?: Too many!

You will not have to purchase extra gear to disable encryption, you'll just have to program the radio with regular RSS. In RSS just disable encryption. The only reason for the keyloader is to load a key so that you can talk in the clear.

On the other hand, you could have an 'X' capable radio without an encryption board (it takes a speacial board to enable encryption). If this is the case, you won't have to worry about it at all, you'll just have to make sure all of the RSS settings are set to 'encrytion disabled'...

Hope this helps,
Scott
