A Saber problem

Post by KD6MHO »

Here is the scenario...

I have two Astro Saber III's. They have the same flashcode. One was cloned from the other, so they have the same codeplug minus individual ID's. I will call them radio #1 and radio #2.

They both receive ASTRO Digital transmissions (from LAPD) in Digital CSQ mode. Here is the catch: Radio #1 (receives Astro from LAPD) can talk to radio #2, but radio #1 ignores astro transmissions from radio #2. Radio #2 receives Astro from LAPD and radio #1.

They are both in Digital CSQ. When I key radio #2 I can hear it transmitting in digital on any analog receiver, but radio #1 will not hear radio#2's transmissions from 3 ft. away while it will hear LAPD's transmissions from over 50mi. away. I am using a simplex channel.

Any suggestions, ideas??

I had the exact same problem and discovered that 1 radio was way off in the alignment. LAPD freqs came in fine but simplex did not. After a quick alignment (too quick-still need a better one) they work fine. I can help direct you to a local place for the same quick and cheap fix that I got.... but I'm still looking for a better *fine tuned* expert job with a reasonable price

Sent it you by Email. I don't remember the exact name of the business, but I left you contact info. I'm sure that he will be able to fix it for you just as fast as he did for me.
