Analog on a Astro Intellrepeater system

Post by DB loss »

I can seem to get analog working on a Intellrepeater UHF Astro system. We first installed this system Astro only But the user wants to try some analog units on it.
I have talked to motorola Fed. Tech support, and sent them the codeplugs they said that they looked good.

any ideas?

An STR3000 is a digital only base station for use at simulcast sites in Smartzone 6.x P25 digital only systems.

When non-simulcast sites are included in Smartzone 6.x, the Quantar is used. In that configuration the Quantar is called an Intellisite Repeater and operates as P25 - 9600 trunking - digital only.

An Intellirepeater is a Quantar used by itself or in combination with one or more additional Intellirepeaters to form a standalone trunked site [standalone= no 6809 or MTC3600 controller] This configuration supports 3600 baud control channel and can be configured as Analog only, digital only, or mixed-mode - depending on the system software configuration. These sites can be part of a Smartzone 3.x or 4.x system.

Someday Motorola may offer standalone P25 / 9600 trunking - but at this time the only way to get P25 trunking is with a Smartzone architecture. They do have a less expensive 'junior' Zone controller for smaller systems which are then called S.E. for Special Edition - as in Smartzone 6.xSE.

You should contact the Motorola System Support Center for assistance in changing your system from digital only to mixed-mode.
