I thought I had seen this data here on the Board but I can't find it. Would someone please send me any and all TRBO data for Dayton, including frequency/rpt or simplex/color code and slot number? Many thanks.

I know there was discussion on either Mototrbo or MTUSA regarding a repeater going up for the weekend care of one of the dealers in the area. I don't know what happened to the project... first I heard it would be up, then it wouldn't.
I don't know if there is a well known simplex channel for "calling" in the trbo world as of yet... There's ones that some of the NYC ham guys are using, but I don't know if that's widely in use or not (or even how it was chosen).

Last I heard about Mototrbo here in Dayton was that Glen (W8AK)from P&R Communications had it up and running on 443.05. The tower is just a couple miles from Hara on the Trotwood Connector. I havent been monitoring the frequency for activity so I cant say for certain. I'll try to find out more and advise.

Hi there,
I'm glad to be there this year again... and I will pick-up a used XTS3k UHF which is not programmed yet.
Will anyone be around and willing to do some programming for me? I really would appreciate that, otherwise I would have to travel with my ol' programming junk yard ... and this would be annoying... [barf]
Regards
Andy

May be there if I can find a hotel room and last minute plane tickets from San Francisco for a decent price. If I go, you'll be hearing from me on VHF P25.

No, there are not P25 systems yet in SW Ohio. The nearest one is W8DIG in Columbus on 443.650 NAC293.

Of a sorts.. it has to be enabled in the flashcode, its used on astro, the radio will display the id, then switch to the soft id. The soft id can be alphanumerical rather than just numerical....
We got on the road around 1115. its 1308 now. We're just getting into Columbus now...about another 1.5hrs. Not sure if we're gonna make it to the hamvention tonight, the group im with hasnt really decided yet. Gotta go drop my friends dad off at the hotel. He dont want to go the hamvention again.....i wonder why....

i had it up and running from about 9am until about 130pm, i heard a number of users on it, but at 130 i asked if anyone was still on the channel and no one replied so i turned it off to save the vehicle battery.
i also borrowed a P25 portable on 151.880 and i was a bit dissapointed at some of the users, some preferred to page me but never replied to my return call, this happened numerous times, as if someone was proud they figured out how page a radio but didn't know how to press the ptt. i asked numerous times what batlabber's were on the channel, but no one offered thier name. i heard numerous P25 traffic, and even users running encryption. i suppose my expectations of having positive communication on 151.88 were elevated this year. im used to the friendly helpful experience here on the board. maybe next year we will have more friendly easy going folk on 151.88
i did find some good deals, including a EXPO remote battery mount adapter, kinda turns the expo into a big speaker mic.
