>>>>>>Does the Larsen Dual-band work pretty?
---------------------------------------------------------------
It does OK, not spectacular....
Mine is on it's third Tahoe (95,97,2001)........ So the outside box is getting kinda tired.....
You have to be careful what type of glass you put it on, it would not work on the side glass of any Tahoes or Suburbans pre-1998+/-, due to excess lead in the glass....
They do have a tendency to fall off, luckily my fell off while sitting in the driveway...
It will probably eventually be replaced by a dual-band NMO mount on the roof, as the tip of the antenna is really worn.... Thanks largely in part to the Federal Courthouse parking garage in Birmingham, AL......
I can usually pick up dispatches on UHF from up to 50 miles away, so the antenna is not completely useless.......

I have a Multi-pattern flasher installed in my 2001 Tahoe...
It will only flash when the low beams are off and the turn signal lever is set to High Beam...
Therefore, it will not work at night....
Possibly Chevy is switching the negative, instead of positive.....?????
I will probably eventually replace the flasher with the self contained flashers that have their own bulbs.... They're installed similarly to strobe tubes......

You need to apply power to the bulbs as well as flash the neg in order to make them work properly. You will need a relay or two in addition to the flasher. BUT it will work and work well. Mine has been working for a year and half now on an '01 Suburban with no problems....
Guess I should post some pics

2001 Tahoe console install....rear seat controls?

I am buying a 2001 Tahoe on Tuesday! I am ready to buy and install a Troy console, but I have a few questions for those that have done it....
What do I do about the heat/air and radio controles at the back of the factory console? Am I just SOL because these are there? How hard do they make removal and installation?
What size/model troy console do you recommend? I am installing 2 M1225's, a MaxTrac, a Federal 6 switch box, Code 3 siren, some amatuer gear, and a street pilot GPS. I want lots of room for expansion and stuff like cup holders and all kinds of little goodies and gadgets!
Thanks for the help!

Was down at Whelen the other day and saw an all LED demo car in the shop. Wow. Wow. Wow.
They had the new TIR6 LEDs in the back window and with the wide angle optics it have a nice 180ish view of the LED's.
Also, heads up to the NJ MTA Police...they had a few of their cars in there...They had mounted what looked like an edge ultra, and then right behind that was the new Hi-Way bars. Talk about light central. Some had bars and hi-way and others with the front fasttrax and the highway bar.
No matter who makes them, LED's are still pretty cool.
