Avtec Outpost and XTL5000

Post by thebopps »

I have a client with an XTL5000 consolette. They would like to control it using an Outpost. Which connector on the consolette should i be using? Does it need a tone remote?

If i use a plain old xtl5000 with a tone remote, does anyone know of a pre-made cable for connection from the XTL5000 to a CPI TTP216?

Thanks for the help.

Part of your answer is normally the lower accessory connector is used for all remote control connections. Depending on how the consolette was ordered, it may or may not have a built in tone remote control board inside. If it does, remember that channels 3 and 4 are reversed with channels 7 and 8. What you think is channel 3 is really channel 7. What is channel 7 is really channel 3 on the tone remote control. Don't ask me, go ask the dumb Motorola geek that designed the station controller board.

You will probably have to make up a cable to go to the accessory connector to meet your requirements. The connections are all in the manual.
