XTS2500i Power Up Issues

I was out on an all night fire scene with my radio last night. Temps were hovering around 10F. I was crawling underneath a deck to get to a basement window with the nozzle (nozzle was on a fog) to attempt to put it in the basement to cool it down (no other way into it at this point). Anyway, I had a whole bunch of water come rushing back on to my gear, including my radio. It also iced over a couple times from within the pocket as I kept getting water from the other attack team on me. Now my radio won't power up. I have taken the battery off of it and kept the radio at room temp for 8 hours now but it's still not working. When I turn it on, it says FAIL 01/A0. Thoughts?

Also, when I power it off, the LCD stays back lit.

sounds like water ingress. first if you haven't already, take the battery off!
second, open the radio and look for signs of water intrusion on the boards. if it is, use some denatured alcohol and clean it, let it dry thoroughly, re-assemble and attempt to power up.

one thing I cannot stress enough if there is water intrusion, leaving a battery on it WILL kill it or cause permanent damage.

01/A0 is an ABACUS Tune Failure. You definitely have water in the case. As MTS2K said, you need to pull the battery immediately (you should've done this as soon as you knew there was a problem), open the case, and dry everything out and clean it up with alcohol. If you're lucky, you'll be OK... otherwise, it's depot time.

I did pull the battery out as soon as I noticed there was a problem with the radio. I put it in a bag of rice last night and let it sit over night. I put the battery in it this morning and all is well again. Works fine again.

I was under the impression that the i series was supposed to handle some water? By no means was the radio submerged, but it was definitely exposed to water and ice.

Good news on it working now, I would do further cleaning though.

The I rating is only good if it the radio has been maintained correctly, and that means every time it is opened the correct procedures need to be followed on re-assembly.
