Vocera Voice Communication System

Post by Jim1348 »

I guess I am not sure where this fits in the various sub-forums, but since this is a VOIP protocol, I will start here. Last year I worked for several months at a major medical center and some staff there were using Vocera Voice Communications devices. I am just wondering if anybody here has used these and, if so, how well do they work? ARe they reliable and do they hold up or are they junk? Also, are there other similar devices from other providers or is Vocera pretty much the only game in town?

While there are other wifi based handsets that utilize a customer's existing enterprise infrastructure, Vocera offers the only handsfree, voice command system. That is their claim to fame. They are filling the niche left behind with the demise of the paging industry. Besides individual calls between units, the system manager can create groups to hailed with a single command.
