Is anyone aware of the Motorola Impres Charger WPLN4114AR coming in firmware version 3.90? I thought the latest was 3.40, but I have one in front of me that says 3.90 on the bottom tag.

New version, no release notes from Motorola. They were shipping MUCs with 3.50 firmware for awhile.

Is it on MOL? I was just logged on and can't seem to find it. Ver 3.4 is there, but not 3.50 or 3.90.

Jeff??

Don't think they are field upgradeable yet. 3.50 was out for awhile and /\/\ said no release was going to be coming for the field programmer. Guess it's the same for 3.90.

Hmmm. I wonder what was fixed in the new versions? Without release notes, I guess we won't know....

...for now

Sorry to dig this up....

Anyone ever figure out what the difference between 3.4 and 3.9 is? I have a SUC that I like to keep as up to date as possible...Wondering if that is possible.

Jay

3.9 improved performance of the APX radios' charge algorithm while on the charger, and left powered on. Nothing else cooking according to the release notes

Release notes on 3.9:
I. Enhancements: None. Motorola is consolidating the different SW versions used in IMPRES desktop chargers (V3.4 & V3.9) into a single version (V3.9) for easy maintenance and support of software platforms. Consolidation began on chargers with 2012 (12XX) date codes and newer. This change does not apply to APX Dual Desktop chargers (NNTN7584, NNTN7585, NNTN7586 & NNTN7593).

II. Corrections: None.

III. Known Issues: None.

IV. FAQ’s

1. What’s the difference between V3.4 and V3.9?
Very Little: APX batteries are fully compatible with XTS chargers (w/inserts) with SW V3.4, therefore upgrading to V3.9 is not required. However, APX radio users leaving the radio in the “on” position will experience longer charging times. V3.9 has added SW to handle this situation if it happens occasionally. Motorola always recommends turning radio “off” when charging.

2. Can I charge APX batteries in XTS chargers with SW V3.4 using APX inserts?
Yes. APX batteries are fully compatible with XTS chargers with SW V3.4. Upgrade to V3.9 is not required.

3. I’m not using APX radios and my chargers have SW V3.4 in it. Do I have to upgrade to V3.9?
No. Upgrade to V3.9 is not required.
