This is the antenna for a CP100 and RDX does this have the same SMA as the Astro series? Im thinking about picking one up to try on my XTS5000 as the standard whip seems to get pretty bent up under my bunker coat. The base of the RAN4041 looks a little beefer. Opinions?

Get yourself a Centurion antenna they last longer, are made differently and work better... My too cents.

Yes. I have tried the reverse, XTS UHF whip antenna on the RDX series UHF radios...fits pretty well. The XTS antenna was ever so slightly smaller in diameter but nothing to ruin perofrmance or fit. I actually am looking at the XPR SMA stubby antennas as an alternative to the long UHF/VHF stock antennas on the RDX and CP110 series.

As for your initial reasoning, I don't think the RDX antenna is any more durable than the XTS antenna, regardless of its larger base.
